I’ve been trying forever to get into my blog. At last, I made it. It’s been frustrating reaching out to WP and sharing information but getting nowheres. Asking friends for help and feeling like a complete failure. Technology is not always our friend.
In the meantime, I’ve been trying to write more haiku. I took a workshop a month ago and the writer said that the 5/7/5 syllable count should be tossed because it’s a total misunderstanding of the symbol sounds. Haiku should identify the season and there should be a twist. This is very similar to the Sijo, a Korean poem.
I have been working full time at my part-time job for the last two months. Things are starting to calm down, so I should be back to working fifteen hours a week rather than 6o. At least that is how it has felt.
Well, this is just a rant I guess bubbling out of me to try to explain my absence from my blog. Hey, they needed to let me in if they wanted another year’s payment out of me, I guess.
Some good news since I’ve been gone. My Sijo titled “Mourning Departure” has been accepted into an anthology of Iowa poets and artists. It will be released in April. Paul Brooke, a professor at Grandview University, is the one who made all call for poems and artwork.
