Siblings: A Joyful Conversation through Gifs

Slice of Life Post for March 26, 2024

My younger brother and sister are twins. I’m in the middle.

Last night a hard fight was battled at the Carver-Hawkeye arena. Afterwards I had a conversation with my siblings. It went like this:

Sister: Woooo Hoooo!! (Two Heart Emojis)

Brother:

Me: What an ugly win! But I’ll have a beer now! Yahoo!

Brother:

Me: Love the moves!

Brother:

I can’t wait to watch the next game. GO HAWKEYES

Did I ever tell you I like to dance? Of course, I did. It runs in the family.

This morning my sister sends me the following message:

She’s still celebrating! Hope you’re having a marvelous day, too!

hawks fly high into
black & gold skies
singing about heaven & beer
while sharing a victory cheer
dancing with glee
screaming yippee

    Barb, I’m loving the heaven and beer in the same line. I’m glad you all are celebrating. Lots of verse today about siblings – you and Maureen for two. I like seeing the photos of my writing buddies with their families. It makes me happy to see the family members of those I know!

    I needed this joyful post today. I saw that Caitlin broke another record and another player whose name I can’t remember broke a single game scoring record. And who needs words when a gif says so much in such a joyful way. Your poem is super fun, too. I’ll cheer for your teams just to see you happy—and because I lived in Iowa way back when!
