Slice of Life Post for March 30, 2024

It’s been a marvelous day. It began early preparing for three big events: a needle felting class, a euchre tournament, and a Hawkeye women’s basketball game. All three were a success.

Nine women signed up for the needle felting class. Our instructor is a retired English teacher who has a marvelous sense of humor and fantastic crafting skills. She taught us all about wool and felting techniques along with providing plenty of supplies to play with. Everyone got busy creating.

Right after the felting class, my husband picked me up to play euchre. We won! Another bonus was the food because everyone from our club brought a bountiful variety including beef, ham, turkey and noodles, Maidrites, smoked tenderloin, baked beans, bacon wrapped weenies, cooked cabbage, green bean mix, desserts galore, etc. No one left the club hungry.

During the euchre tournament the Iowa women’s basketball team played against the Colorado Buffaloes team. They won! Yes, there’s nothing like a Hawkeye victory to top off a glorious spring day! Hope your Saturday was wonderful, too!
