“Are you awake?”

“I am now.”

So goes the conversation between my husband and I as we try to view shows on our reclining couch. Last night we started to watch Severance. Ok, we don’t get the hype about this show, but we snoozed through two episodes so maybe we’re missing something.

Writing throughout this month has not been a snooze fest. Thank you to everyone who read a slice or two and commented on my posts. A super big shout out to my invaluable friends Glenda Funk, Kim Johnson, and Denise Krebs for always being there to support my blogging efforts. Kim came up with the idea about focusing on a slice of time for each post and without her encouragement, I know I would not have been up to this month’s challenge. Your blogging skills are amazing. I learn something new every time I read your posts.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to all the amazing writers in this community who have inspired me and proved to me that blogging can be incredibly moving and impactful. I appreciated reading about your passions, the jobs you are managing, the grandchildren and children you love and care for, to the losses you are navigating, the crafts and pets you adore, the poetry you craft, the teaching jobs you manage, and for revealing and sharing those precious moments of your lives to a public audience. I bow down to your writing prowess!

Finally, I cannot thank the phenomenal leaders of TWT enough. Thank you, Melanie, Betsy, Jenna, Lainie, Leigh, and Sarah for all you do to make this community a wonderful place to share our hearts and our stories.

My triolet today is in honor of all the writers at TWT.

sharing our stories, our hearts
a slice of our life colorfully displayed
sometimes it’s difficult to part
after sharing our stories, our hearts
a month together crafting our art
our lives, our loves, our passions portrayed
sharing our stories, our hearts
a slice of life colorfully displayed

    Batb,

I laughed at your Severance comment and nod at the snoozing through shoes. Ken does that. I don’t. But I miss stuff because I’m on my phone these days playing Spelling Bee! I love your triplet and the repeated lines. I’m so glad you wrote this month. You have the most fascinating life and posts. You are exceptionally talented. Thank you for being my brilliant friend.

    Barb, those beautiful refrain lines:

    sharing our stories, our hearts
a slice of life colorfully displayed

Thank you for writing a poem dedicated to the TWT’s writers. I feel special being a part of that group. I’m so glad you joined in this year, even if you considered not doing it. I think you are a great blogger, a blogger who knows how to share her heart. You are inspiration for those of us who aren’t as good at that aspect.

Barb, this is beautiful. The thanks is all to you – – for keeping our small group up and running for Stafford writing and always inspiring us with your beautiful verse. This triolet makes my heart sing. Your rhyme scheme and form is heartfelt! Thanks for doing the slicing at intervals – – I loved seeing what my fellow writers were doing at the exact same time in your GPS locations! It’s fun seeing that life takes such similar shapes as we live it. Can’t wait to see you for VerseLove and Tuesday slicing and Stafford writing! And in our Zooms.

The triolet is gorgeous, Barb – it encompasses everything wonderful and powerful about the SOLSC. Such a supportive, loving community. I have so enjoyed your amazing posts, which are like art galleries in themselves, and your honesty about many things… mainly I am glad you are here. I feel I’ve always known you. I also appreciate your wit – what a great beginning to this post! You have enriched us all with you art and craft; you’re a person of many gifts, and we are the better for your sharing:)

What a perfect description…”a slice of our life colorfully displayed.” You had much color and beauty to this challenge, Barb, and I always enjoy your slices. Stay well and we’ll connect on Tuesdays.
